The birds have been active as ever here. Today the swallows flew in one big formation, ditching their normal pairings, as if celebrating a hatching. Their flight seemed to be for fun and love rather than food.
Deer are starting to wander by my house again too - a few fawns still spotted and playful.
My tomatoes are almost yellow, but the huckleberries are a magical sour. I put them in our pancakes this morning.
Good morning

Riding the thermals I have picked up from my good friend Ben. He flies and teaches me lots of things.
To to B and C - that is epic that you have also found these books! maybe the slowness is at the heart of the current reading slump, b?
Maybe given my current slump I ought not try it rn

the Buru Quartet almost killed my reading momentum forever. I read This Earth of Mankind while in Indonesia, and while helpful and fascinating for understanding Javanese social structures / culture, it fell really flat beyond that. The middle section was very slow. Impressed you made it through the quartet.
