Riding the thermals I have picked up from my good friend Ben. He flies and teaches me lots of things. To to B and C - that is epic that you have also found these books! maybe the slowness is at the heart of the current reading slump, b? Maybe given my current slump I ought not try it rn

the Buru Quartet almost killed my reading momentum forever. I read This Earth of Mankind while in Indonesia, and while helpful and fascinating for understanding Javanese social structures / culture, it fell really flat beyond that. The middle section was very slow. Impressed you made it through the quartet.

@Henry Thanks mate. I didn't think of it as a poem so it's cool to hear you interpreted it that way. I kinda zoned out on updating about the ink making ... so much to do, too little time. maybe I'll do that after I hit send here if you're lucky hehe. I also hadn't even thought of a garden update. @b You just made my night! You are too kind. I hope you find some amazing lichen and mushrooms (morels?) tomorrow *()* I also find myself in a reading slump right now. Monkey Wrench Gang is really beautifully written and I am enjoying it, but it isn't drawing me back in enough to pull my attention during this busy time. Buru Quartet sounds so cool from what I just read online! I may try to read a bit of it to spur me back into book-mode. Anyways—thanks for the message. Come again soon :)

Hey, very much enjoy the site, reading what you wrote about getting into birding I was thinking that just how I felt getting into mushrooms and lichens. I'll be back to peep the booklist when I'm out of my reading slump (I finished the Buru Quartet months ago and it destroyed me)
